Founded in 1845 by Charlotte Erasmi in the city of Lubeck,
Carstens was one of the first industrial manufacturers of Lübecker
marzipan. It played an important role in the growing marzipan industry
and was known for its quality. In 1874, Carstens was named the official
marzipan supplier to the imperial court of Emperor William I. Today,
Carstens offers over 150 products that contain marzipan.

Carstebs primarily produce "90/10" quality marzipan,
which even exceeds the quality criteria for Lübeck marzipan specified
by the RAL German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification. In
addition, we ensure that the thin coating of plain chocolate does not
overwhelm the exquisite almond aroma of our premium products, since it
is not "marzipan pralines" but the genuine, pure "LÜBECK MARZIPAN"
which enjoys the highest level of acceptance.
