Caramel is a food which has an orange-brown color and is used to flavor candy with it's sweet toasted taste. Caramel was invented in Turin sometime before the 18th century. The word caramel describes a soft, chewy, caramel flavored candy made by boiling milk and sugar together. Caramels are often made by hand.
